Today seemed like a good day to finally watch this blu ray I’ve owned for a long time but have never watched. Yesterday, we had dumbasses storming the capitol, an even bigger dumbass encouraging it all, and our new dumbass neighbors two doors down from us decided to hang a fucking Boogaloo flag.

Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove is a satire about the US and Russian governments trying to prevent mutually assured destruction after US general Jack D. Ripper (ha) goes rogue and orders his wing to attack with ICBMs.
I’m honestly emotionally exhausted right now, so I don’t have too much to say. Peter Sellers is great in all three characters – Captain Mandrake, President Muffley, and the titular Dr. Strangelove. George C. Scott might be my favorite in this movie as the animated General Turgidson. Stanley Kubrick did a great job with everything yet again. Surprise surprise. I laughed at times, but mostly just felt depressed.
Glad I watched it though. Good movie.
This scene is probably what sums up my hopelessness:
